Abstract
Adaptive Meta Antennas for 5G Defence and Beyond: As 5G technology start to bring innovative advancements in modern antennas and AI (Artificial Intelligence), we are at the cusp where now there is a real possibility of reduction of communications systems SWaP (Size, Weight and Power) by an order of magnitudes. We all appreciate that the reduction in SWaP directly co-relates to a reduction in the cost and making impossible RF integration in compact platform to become feasible. This talk will be underpinned by latest cutting edge antenna research from industry funded projects (e.g. Airbus, MBDA, Ministry of Defence UK, European Space Agency, etc). In here, with upcoming and edge providing applications and a multiple of case studies in the domains of Internet of Things (IoT), GNSS, Satcom on the Move and 5G on planes etc will be presented for modern electronic warfare scenarios.
