Biography

Craig Miller is the Chief Technical Officer for Viasat’s Government Systems. In this role, Craig is responsible for oversight of the technical aspects of the entirety of Viasat’s government business portfolio (approximately $1 Billion in sales/year). Craig is responsible for establishing and communicating the technical vision for a diverse range of products and services: including our government satellite communications portfolio, tactical networks, encryption products, cyber/network security products and services, as well as our Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance product portfolio. In addition to his role within Viasat’s government systems, Craig is also a member of the design team of Viasat’s commercial satellite communications group, which includes the Viasat-3 satellite. In this role Craig contributes to the design of Viasat’s, next-generation satellite communications portfolio, and serves as the liaison between Viasat’s commercial and government businesses to ensure that government stakeholders’ requirements and CONOPS can be serviced by our future satellite communications systems. Craig joined Viasat in 1995 and has over 22 years experience in our communications systems portfolio, including terrestrial wireless, satellite communications and terrestrial networking. Craig is well versed in multiple aspects of communications system design, including protocol/waveform design, terminal and space segment design, network proxy design, cryptography, cryptosystems, network security, as well as offensive and defensive cyber techniques. Craig holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, with emphasis on Communications and Signal Processing from the University of Arizona.
