ABSTRACT
Militaries are looking to operationalise cloud capabilities at the tactical edge to deliver an advantage for the war fighter. Adoption of cloud infrastructure at the tactical edge will enable commanders to leverage the cloud ecosystem to provide flexible and adaptable solutions to achieve decision superiority. In this talk we will look at how cloud can enable the tactical edge in a denied, degraded, intermittent and low bandwidth environments.
Using a practical real-world implementation, we will demonstrate a tactical cloud edge solution that is capable of scaling from the Headquarters all the way down to the individual platform or troop. We will demonstrate this implementation utilising a cloud edge solution paired with enterprise grade network security appliances.
After demonstrating the ability to contextualise the cloud edge in military environment to support the adoption of capabilities such as Artificial Intelligence. We will conduct a deep dive on how a security fabric can be deployed across the edge architecture to provide a commander with a common operating picture of the cyber terrain. Ultimately enabling the commander an ability to contextualise and mitigate the cyber risk across their infrastructure whilst enabling cyber terrain decision superiority.
