ABSTRACT
Communication Technology is moving at a very rapid pace. Not long ago 4G was cool with a value tag of $100 billion. We now have 5G worth $1 trillion and by 2030 we will have 6G worth $10 trillion. Technology has and is changing people lives and significantly contributing to global prosperity. However, for defence, it appears that the new generations of 5G / 6 G / 7G could post real risk to the current state of global military dominance. We are reaching a point where it is becoming essential for nations to be at the forefront of this new technology transition to mitigate the evolving threats. In the tutorial we will provide examples on 5G and 6G can enable abundant spectrum which is protected from jamming, on how AI would make a lot of fast decisions on real time hypersonic defence shield for aircraft carriers, on the last mile for combat operations and on other new exciting defence applications.
