ABSTRACT
There are many practical applications for Codan DTC MIMO/Mesh IP Radio in military environments including convoy protection, dismounted soldier, autonomous vehicle operation, perimeter security/force protection and network architectures. This tutorial examines some of those applications:
The Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS) is a United States Army program to provide dismounted/foot soldiers with a networked augmented reality headset, to deliver next-generation night vision and situational awareness capabilities to the Close Combat Force (CCF) at the speed of relevance. We will discuss the IVAS program as an example of a program that benefits from using Codan DTC MIMO/Mesh IP radios to provide high-capacity multi-domain IP connectivity as a backbone network architecture in challenging environments.
C4 EDGE is an Australian Army program to provide a demonstration of sovereign Australian capability to deliver a technologically competitive Battle Group and below Battlefield Command System (BG-BCS). We will discuss the role of Codan DTC MIMO/Mesh IP radios in this demonstration in providing an IP communications backbone for the project.
We will also examine other potential Australian and international military programs and applications of Codan DTC MIMO/Mesh IP radios.

Tertiary qualified with a Master of Science in Physics by Research from the University of SA and a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Physics from the University of Adelaide and other training in Systems Engineering, Test and Evaluation, System Safety and Speciality Engineering.
25+ years experience in Systems Engineering, Engineering Manager and Scientist roles working on Defence projects with a broad level of experience in all of the engineering areas required to deliver a capability through complex software intensive systems. Experienced in all phases of the engineering lifecycle.
