ABSTRACT
In an ever-changing military environment that is increasingly reliant on advances in technology, the ability to successfully engage in experimentation is becoming paramount to mission success. In this tutorial, we will explore the strategic context and future opportunities for experimentation and wargaming. Through lived experience and futures thinking, we will guide the audience through how the use of experimentation and wargaming can achieve sustainability and resilience for the warfighter. Further, we will demonstrate how these forward-thinking techniques can deliver strategic advantage in project application and mission readiness. Cases studies from the Joint Experimentation Directorate (JED) and Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG), will further demonstrate how Defence and broader industry, can utilise experimentation to enhance delivery. Participants will leave this session with some practical insights into how testing and experimenting with new, communications information systems and emerging technologies, and can accelerate capability delivery. Presenters will include: Noel Derwort, General Manager – Defence, Noetic Group Chris Goldston, Principal Consultant – JED Lead, Noetic Group
