ABSTRACT
The Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide and Afghanistan Inquiry, are managed independent to government, will request official records from the Department of Defence as part of their inquiry. Defence has subsequently established a corresponding Defence Task Forces Royal Commission Defence and Veteran Suicide (RCDVS) and Afghanistan Inquiry Response (AIR) for these two initial inquiries, which will be responsible for coordinating information gathering, consolidating, and disseminating records back to the Royal Commissions via the Australian Government Solicitor. The requirement was for the delivery of a suitable Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool, to assist both Taskforces, manage information relating to taskforce activities, including requests for information, lessons learned, risks, benefits, and stakeholder management. Microsoft Dynamics was selected by CIOG as the service offering to manage stakeholder engagements and RFIs. The Accenture team worked collaboratively with the taskforces in the delivery and were able to roll out a production solution within ten weeks of commencement. The solution provided a single view of all transactions, requests, tasking and related functions for the Taskforce to perform end-to-end business functions and had full approvals from the Architecture and Security governing teams. Further to these task forces, another two business areas have been onboarded onto the solution. The platform now supports the Royal Commission into Nuclear Submarines, and Ministerial and Executive Coordination and Communication. Accenture is proud to be supporting Defence in provisioning this platform and proposes to co-present this case study with Defence stakeholders, and share the learnings, successes, and next steps.
