ABSTRACT
The breadth of the cyber threat means that the mission of defending Australian assets requires a whole of nation approach. Effectively combatting this threat in Australia’s ecosystem requires strong partnerships forged across public and private sector organisations. Sharing across these partnerships is critical to defending our nation against continually evolving attacks mounted by increasingly sophisticated threat actors. CTIS is the Australian Cyber Security Centre’s (ACSC’s) threat information sharing platform that went live in late 2021. CTIS establishes a national community of organisations that share cyber threat intelligence bilaterally at machine speed. Participating organisations include federal and state government agencies and private sector organisations across multiple industry sectors, including Defence industry. In less than 12 months of the program, CTIS has already proven its value Australian cyber resilience, in that the intelligence shared is known to have uncovered previously unknown threats and compromise. This presentation will provide an overview of: • How CTIS can play a critical role in the context of CISONS and supply chain assurance for Defence. • How CTIS is improving cyber resilience across our shared national ecosystem and the critical part that Defence industry can play in this.
