ABSTRACT
Today’s threatening cyber environment requires us to protect sensitive mission data with more than “guns, gates and guards”. The need to encrypt data at a high assurance level is growing by the day. This brief will discuss the benefits of using NSA certified Type 1 encryption to protect this data. When choosing a solution to protect your highly sensitive data, there is more to consider than just the initial cost of the equipment. Evolving mission needs including unmanned operations, high risk and joint/coalition environments, telework, and higher bandwidth data center operations. This discussion will provide an overview of the TACLANE product line including our new C175N Cryptographic High Value Product (CHVP), E-Series Layer 2 Ethernet Data Encryption (EDE) encryptors, and GEM One encryptor manager.

BIOGRAPHY
Michael has worked at GDMS for over 18 years. He is CISSP, CCNP, and CEH certified. Michael worked on developing Type 1 encryption products as a systems/software engineer and as a field product support engineer before starting his current role as the lead Solutions Architect for General Dynamics Mission Systems' Secure Network and Voice Products. He really enjoys teaching users about Type 1 and networking technologies. Michael is very involved in the future of Type 1 products and helps to guide General Dynamics Mission Systems on new products and features to meet current and future customer mission needs.
