ABSTRACT
Australia’s Defence community has never faced a more challenging cyber threat landscape, while concurrently its cybersecurity analysis operations are constrained by information handling processes due to CLASSIFICATION. This presentation by Thales will explore how commercial data discovery and anonymisation, which is successfully used throughout the financial services industry today, could enable Defence to dynamically anonymise cyber intelligence data so that it can be safely shared with specialist external cyber analysts or platforms. Combined with the ability for Defence to reverse the anonymisation process within their secure domain, Defence will also be able to respond to cyber threats identified by third party intelligence services or analysis. The ultimate result being improved cybersecurity outcomes at a lower overall cost than building bespoke Defence cyber analysis capabilities, while concurrently supporting local cyber intelligence companies to grow their capabilities to secure other Australian government or commercial clients.
