ABSTRACT
Kinexus will release its ninth Defence Workforce Insights report in September 2022, containing comprehensive data relating to salary levels, worker demographics and attraction and retention factors. The proposed presentation will review and analyse the following topics, with a focus on CIS projects and the workforce. Project Environment The current defence sector project environment, along with analysis on the impact of adjacent industry activity. Worker Demand Predicted hiring activity in the defence sector in the next 18 months. Broken down by state. Most in-demand CIS related skills sets. Worker Supply Size and location and industry employment of CIS workforces. Identify mismatch between supply and demand. Salaries & Expectations 2022 salary report data by skill sets and locations. Factors that will enhance attraction and retention of essential talent. Impact of COVID19. Supply Solutions How to make the most efficient use of existing workers. How to grow the pool of potential workers, including existing, planned and possible initiatives. Skilled workers are a fundamental input to capability, and innovative solutions are essential to reduce the risk of worker shortages.

BIOGRAPHY
Robert joined the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) as a midshipman in 1994 and gained bridge watchkeeping endorsements on a number of RAN and Royal Navy ships before completing his service as an instructor at HMAS WATSON in 2002. After a brief sojourn as an accountant, Robert joined Kinexus in 2004 to lead the defence business. Robert manages the delivery of large recruitment projects and recruitment outsource solutions, as well as Kinexus’ defence market data products and services. Robert consults with a wide range of senior defence sector workforce planning stakeholders on workforce capability matters. Robert dedicates his non-work time to his family and his role as a leader in Scouts NSW.
