Tuesday, November 14, 2023
1:30 PM - 2:30 PM
Nicholls Theatre

As satellite imagery increases in volume, resolution and utility, the need to make it more widely available across low-bandwidth networks and commodity hardware has increased exponentially. Existing solutions either require specialised hardware and large file downloads, or are streaming solutions with poor scalability and user experience.
‘ENLIGHT’ provides an end-to-end geospatial platform enabling instant access to satellite imagery from remote environments with any modern web browser. It is hyper-scalable to millions of users, and driven by cutting-edge web and compression technology; WebAssembly, WebGL and JPEG-XL.
This presentation will explore the challenges of analysing high bit-depth, multispectral, multi-gigabyte satellite images. We will delve into the technology behind ENLIGHT and provide a demonstration of this innovative system.
