According to a worldwide study conducted in 2022, when people think of space they tend to think of aliens and billionaires. And whilst the Low Earth Orbit space domain has seen exponential growth in recent times, the higher earth orbits have also been undergoing a paradigm shift in the art of the possible.
A key issue that has been drawing attention has been the preservation of space for future generations, as well as conducting business with a view towards net zero launches. It is now possible to imagine a way to access new, combined capability online and on orbit without it costing the earth.
Peter will discuss the latest innovations in space assets and launch technology, as well as the great moves underway in in-orbit communications to support the increased activity in space exploration.
He will also discuss the different models available to suit specific requirements: how mobility and flexibility are key to the current Defence user; and, how decisions regarding the secure management of capability by key Defence forces must remain independent of satellite operators when engaging in mission critical operations.
