Theme: What does Army need to consider to provide C2 to Land Force’s Littoral Capabilities?
Outcomes sought: Industry is consulted early on the challenges facing Army post DSR with a renewed focus on expanding littoral capabilities. Land C4 is informed of Industry’s capacity and ability to support this new priority for Army.
The Defence Strategic Review and subsequent Commonwealth Government announcements are transforming the Australian Army. Of specific interest and the objective for the next Focus Group is the shift to littoral operations. Army Headquarters, Land C4 is seeking Defence Industry collaboration to consider how the changed focus to littoral operations will impact C2. Littoral operations in our archipelagic region will involve challenging terrain, movements between islands and all in a disrupted and denied environment. Logistics, repair and replacement, and maintenance all have additional, complex challenges in this environment.
