In an expanded and evolving digital landscape for defence and intelligence organisations, this presentation will cover Microsoft’s focus areas for innovation and recent Australian examples of how to adopt commercial technology at speed to maintain competitive military advantage. Attendees will hear about Microsoft’s five key focus areas, as well as recent initiatives with the Australian defence and intelligence community
Over the past few decades, technologies have rapidly evolved to empower defence and intelligence organisations to adapt, remain agile, and build and maintain their strategic advantage. Microsoft has become more than just a traditional software company, now focused on delivering solutions across a broad spectrum of defence and intelligence capabilities. The next great power competition will likely be won or lost based on the speed at which new technology can be developed and adopted.
This session will explore an expanded digital landscape for defence. The focus will be on Microsoft’s five lines of effort for defence and intelligence innovation that support the goals of defence and intelligence organisations. These include; delivering a secure and trusted digital backbone, empowering personnel and modernising facilities, transforming the capability lifecycle, optimising decision advantage, and enhancing interoperability.
Through recent Australian examples and case studies, we will look at ways to ensure our Defence Force and Intelligence Agencies remain postured to meet our global and regional security challenges through the adoption of technology and digital transformation.
