UBH will be discussing Military C4I integration of AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), and UBH’s growing service offerings in AI application development. AI is becoming the modern equivalent of the 1960’s space race between the US and Soviet Union. AI is present in many facets of Australian life, but it’s in the military sphere that some expect it to be a dominant factor over the coming decade. Broader applications of AI, transcending solely kinetic effects, are critical to harnessing its potential for an asymmetric advantage. Improved decision-making, future force design incorporating autonomous systems at scale, as well as data analytics and predictive modelling are all areas the ADF, through AUKUS, should seek to accelerate development to generate the capabilities directed as a part of the DSR.
UBH’s AI/LLM radio operator prototype is an AI assistant designed to revolutionize military radio communications. This technology enables radio operators to communicate in natural language with an AI assistant. The AI assistant can take natural language descriptions and convert it into formatted reports and returns. The AI assistant removes the cognitive load from operators by identifying missing information requirements and prompting the operator for missing information and ensure that reports are accurate and complete. The primary objective of this technology is to decrease the cognitive load of radio operators while increasing the accuracy and efficiency of reporting. By leveraging the power of AI, we aim to streamline the reporting process and eliminate the need for operators to manually transcribe and transmit reports.
