The future of warfare exists within the Joint Operating Environment. Developing best practices for interoperability includes adopting the necessary equipment to support those same practices. Taking best practice further: Equipment and software usage between partner countries increases risk, unless we prioritize implementation of evidence-based identity, credential, and access (ICAM) management solutions. We will discuss how evidence-based ICAM at the Edge™ implementation and sustainment will eliminate risk for Military Communications and Information Systems in a Joint Operating Environment. ICAM at the Edge™ is a functioning solution which we can demonstrate. It is vendor agnostic and compatible with industry and open technology standards ensuring integration with relevant cross-organization data stores and facilitating important mission partner interoperability. We present a modular component solution that works for both enterprise and edge environments, each compatible with the other.
The ICAM solution we will present includes detailed designs, interfaces, process diagrams, validation tests, and reusable code necessary to support the requirements and deliverables enabling publishing the appropriate standards for any potential mission partner to identify and configure their own systems without the need to specify a vendor. This accelerates the ability for Allies to operate globally.
Solutions that are not vendor agnostic create risk. They are hybrid solution/software packages that put constraints on a coalition, interfering with the ability to be quickly utilized when identity and access control is crucial to the mission. Our solution can be used by any coalition using any hardware or software, quickly and effectively, achieving true coalition interoperability.
