Military usage of satellites plays a crucial role in the provision of vital information, intelligence, and command capabilities, making them prime targets for adversaries seeking to disrupt or eavesdrop on sensitive data. The ability to detect and counteract interference safeguards against potential threats, ensuring uninterrupted and secure communication channels, operational security, and enabling seamless coordination of military forces in response to emerging challenges.
As a global leader with extensive experience in communications test and measurement, Rohde & Schwarz will conduct a non-commercial 50-minute presentation discussing Satellite Communications Interference Detection. The presentation will explain how the implementation of a robust interference detection mechanism is a vital aspect of maintaining operational superiority and protecting sensitive military assets in an ever evolving and technologically complex landscape. Moreover, the brief will explain different causes of interference and how to gain better knowledge of the interference.

Darren Ross is currently the Head of Air Domain in the Integrated Systems and Solutions Team at Rohde & Schwarz Australia. Darren is a dedicated Communications and Information Systems professional with more than 30 years experience contributing to Defence’s Air and Space Domain capability. A large part of this contribution was as an Electronics Engineering Officer in the Royal Australian Air Force, including positions operating and managing Defence’s Satellite Communications capability. Now with Rohde & Schwarz Australia, Darren is working with customers to ensure their Air Traffic Management, Air Defence, Avionics and Space needs are met.
