The Kinexus Defence Industry Hiring Intentions report released in June 2023 showed that Defence industry was poised to add a further 4,500 new positions by 2025. Constrained access to workers contributed to project delays in the late 2000s, and if not carefully managed now, may do so again.
Kinexus released its Defence Workforce Insights report in February 2024, containing comprehensive data on factors that will affect employer’s ability to attract and retain workforces.
The proposed presentation will review the following topics, with a focus on CIS projects and workforce, and taking into account the effects, challenges and opportunities presented by AUKUS and the Defence Strategic Review.

- Predicted hiring activity in the defence sector in the next 18 months. Broken down by state.
- Most in-demand CIS related skills sets.

- Identify mismatch between supply and demand.
