Biography
Air Commodore Arndell Guy Adams was born in Moree NSW in 1972 and grew up on farms in western NSW and the NSW North Coast. He joined the Australian Defence Force Academy in 1991. Graduating in 1993, he continued his studies at Sydney University graduating with a Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering in 1994. His junior officer postings included Maintenance Officer at 75 Squadron and Directorate of Personnel.
In 1999, then Flight Lieutenant Adams completed Flight Test Engineers course at the Empire Test Pilot School in the UK, where he remained to complete a Master Science in Flight Dynamics from Cranfield University. He returned to Australia in 2000 and was posted to the Aircraft Research and Development Unit.
Between 2004 and 2007, at Air Combat Group and 77 Squadron, then Squadron Leader Adams undertook Operational Test on the RAAF fast jet fleet being involved in the introduction into service of a number significant aircraft upgrades. These included Hornet Upgrades and F-111 AGM-142 integration. In late 2007 Air Commodore Adams was promoted to Wing Commander and posted to the Tactical Fighter System Program Office as the Program Engineering Manager for Hornet systems and weapons upgrades.
In 2009 Air Commodore Adams transferred to the Reserves, and worked for Nova Systems. During this time he worked as a Commonwealth Design Engineer/Flight Test Engineer on the Tiger Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter, and was the Program Manager for the company’s Aerospace business unit. He was also Project Manager for the Commonwealth Counter Improvised Explosive Device capability.
In 2012, then Group Captain Adams returned to the Air Force on promotion, and was posted to Air Force Headquarters where he was Director Flight Test Review, Director Combat Capability and Director Unmanned Aerial Systems. He was posted to the Joint Strike Fighter Division as a Project Director in January 2017 and returned to Air Force Headquarters in 2020 as Director Joint Strike Fighter and Director Combat Capability. Air Commodore Adams completed an Executive Masters throughout 2020 and 2021 and in 2022 was posted to the Nuclear Powered Submarine Taskforce as the Director of Joint Force Integration.
He was promoted to Air Commodore in 2023 and posted to the Director General Data and Systems Design within Force Integration Division.
Air Commodore Adams’ interests include aviation, photography, water and snow skiing and good red wine. He has run one marathon, and walked the Kokoda track. That will be enough.
He is married to (Air Commodore) Jules Adams.

RADM Andrew Quinn, RAN

Biography
RADM Andrew Quinn, RAN graduated from the Australian Defence Force Academy in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science. Early in his career he served as an Officer of the Watch and Fighter Controller on Australian and Canadian Frigates.
In 1998 he graduated as a Principal Warfare Officer (Air), and subsequently served as the Gunnery Officer on the Frigates HMA Ships Sydney and Adelaide. In 2003 he assumed Command of the Fremantle Class Patrol Boat HMAS Bunbury and in 2005 the Armidale Class Patrol boat HMAS
Bathurst. After serving as the Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile Project Director and within the Anzac Anti-Ship Missile Defence Upgrade Project, he assumed Command of the ANZAC Class Frigate HMAS Toowoomba in 2009. RADM Quinn has served in operations in Haiti, East Timor, Solomon Islands, Border Protection and in the Middle East. RADM Quinn was awarded a Commendation for Conspicuous Service for his Command of HMAS Toowoomba.
In 2013, RADM Quinn served as Director Frigates, responsible for the through-life capability of the Anzac Class and Project Sponsor of the Future Frigate Project. In 2017 RADM Quinn completed the Australian Defence and Strategic Studies Course as well as a Masters of Arts (Strategic Studies). In 2018 RADM Quinn served as the Combined Maritime Forces Director Operations and Commander Maritime Task Group Middle East Region, as part of Australia’s commitment to promote maritime security. In this capacity RADM Quinn was awarded the US Legion of Merit. In 2019 and 2020 RADM Quinn served as the Commander Australian Maritime Task Group, leading Maritime Task Groups as either a Sea Combat Commander or as a Commander Task Group. This has included multiple operational deployments in the Indo-Pacific.
In November 2020, RADM Quinn commenced as Director General Surface Combatants and Aviation, responsible for the through-life capability of surface and aviation assets. RADM Quinn then served as the Director General – Modernisation, Assessment and Assurance in Joint Operations Command. On promotion to Rear Admiral, RADM Quinn commenced his current posting as Head Space and Cyber Capabilities in Joint Capabilities Group in December 2024.
In his spare time RADM Quinn is a reluctant gardener, enjoys reading (biographies and fantasy), strategy gaming, spending time with his wife and adult children, and walking Bella the family labradoodle.
MAJGEN Brett Mousley AM, CSC

Biography
Major General Mousley assumed his role as Head Intelligence Capability in December 2022 on promotion to his current rank. He is responsible for the capability development and assurance of Defence’s joint intelligence capabilities including the Joint Intelligence and Joint Geospatial Programs, intelligence workforce and training requirements, and enablers.
Major General Brett Mousley was born in Sydney in 1973. He attended the Australian Defence Force Academy from 1991-1993 and graduated from the Royal Military College, Duntroon in December 1994 as a member of the Australian Intelligence Corps.
Major General Mousley has served in a wide range of intelligence staff and instructional appointments in both Australia and the United Kingdom. He has served operationally in Bosnia- Herzegovina, Afghanistan and East Timor. His last intelligence staff appointment was as the J2 Headquarters Joint Operations Command from 2019-2021. During this appointment he was awarded the Japanese Defence Cooperation Medal First Class.
He has also served in capability development and joint capability integration roles throughout his career. This includes a secondment to assist and eventually lead the design and implementation of the new Capability Life Cycle as part of the First Principles Review of Defence for which he was awarded the Conspicuous Service Cross in the 2018 Australia Day Honours List.
Major General Mousley holds the post-graduate academic qualifications of a Masters of Management Studies (Capability Development and Acquisition), Masters of Arts (Strategy and Management), Graduate Diploma of Information Management and Analysis, Graduate Diploma of Management in Defence Studies and a Graduate Certificate in Computing. Major General Mousley is married to Avril, a registered nurse and has two adult sons and a daughter. His hobbies include running and hiking.
