Next Gen Encryption: What it Means for Your Networks explores the evolving cryptographic landscape and the increasing difficulty of staying ahead of sophisticated adversaries. As malicious actors leverage emerging technologies – including Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing – there is greater urgency for governments to enhance their cybersecurity posture to defend critical networks. Furthermore, modern security solutions must align with emerging architectures such as cloud computing, edge devices, and IoT ecosystems, where latency, bandwidth, and real-time performance are paramount.
The goal is simple: design and implement security solutions that stay ahead of emerging threats while maintaining an efficient and available network in all environments. To achieve this goal, organisations must consider a systematic refresh of hardware and software, prioritize new security and interoperability capabilities, and continuously evolve security products.
This presentation explores the core principles of Next Generation Encryption technologies—not merely technical enhancements, but a transformative shift in the approach to High Assurance encryption.
Next Generation High Assurance IP Encryptor (HAIPE) and Ethernet Data Encryption (EDE) devices fill capability gaps and meet rigorous security requirements. Ongoing modernization, strong governance, and technological advancement ensure that the essential networks remain secure and resilient in the face of evolving cyber threats. By aligning technology, policy, and strategic foresight, this new generation of encryption and security platforms will protect Australia and the Five Eyes from cyber adversaries.
