Details
As militaries accelerate adoption of Zero Trust architectures, the operational reality remains clear: many missions still operate under contested, degraded, intermittent, or limited (C-DIL) connectivity, especially in remote or tactical theaters. Traditional network monitoring models collapse under these conditions, creating critical visibility gaps that threaten mission assurance, cyber resilience and timely defensive responses.
This session examines how Network Detection and Response (NDR) capabilities will adapt to disconnected and satellite-reliant environments. Drawing from real-world U.S. Department of Defense operational experience, this highlights strategies for:
- Pre-positioning deployable visibility kits to operate in austere environments
- Integrating with SATCOM systems for resilience in bandwidth-limited conditions
- Preserving analytics and detection workflows without constant cloud connectivity
- Supporting coalition and Five Eyes interoperability under Zero Trust frameworks
Attendees will leave with practical design considerations and high level architectural patterns that enable full-spectrum visibility and control at the tactical edge, even in communications-denied scenarios. These approaches ensure defenders can maintain cyber posture, accelerate response, and uphold mission assurance in the most challenging environments.
Learning Outcomes
• Recognise operational challenges enforcing Zero Trust principles in C-DIL and satellite-reliant environments.
• Design tactical network monitoring strategies that provide persistent visibility despite intermittent or degraded connectivity.
• Evaluate SATCOM integration techniques to maintain real-time or near-real-time cyber defense workflows under bandwidth limitations.
• Apply practical approaches for interoperability with coalition and Five Eyes partners in a Zero Trust framework.
• Develop strategies to position deployable NDR kits for mission assurance and cyber resilience at the tactical edge.
