Threat actors collaborate, conspire, and acquire targets with impunity, just below the surface of what we see on the internet daily.
Often called the Deep Web or Dark Web, these virtual meeting places hide cybercriminals, insiders, terrorists, and activists from plain view. This session will dispel the mystery of the dark web, discuss how the virtual underground operates and provide guidance on how organisations can gain visibility into these environments to help inform and manage risk.
What will be the key takeaways?
• Understanding and dispelling the myths of the deep and dark web
• How does e-crime/cybercrime work, and how do the illicit actors operate
• Key Australian threat trends being seen in recent years
• Real-life examples of content from virtual illicit communities
This is an introductory topic, and it is open to anyone, including IT managers, Risk managers, IT Security professionals, IT technical staff, or anyone with a general interest in cybercrime.
