Presentation Outline
Next-generation encryption is no longer a future planning topic. As mission networks expand to support cloud connectivity, AI-enabled operations, high-volume sensor data and real-time decision-making, organisations must protect sensitive information at greater speed and scale while preparing for evolving cyber and quantum-era threats.
This presentation explores the changing cryptographic landscape and the principles of High Assurance Cryptographic Encryption (HACE). It examines how Layer 3 IP encryption and Layer 2 Ethernet encryption address different mission requirements. Rather than choosing one approach over the other, attendees will see how a hybrid architecture can preserve existing investments, strengthen network security and create a practical path towards crypto modernisation.
The session also highlights the operational requirements behind successful modernisation, including interoperability, scalability, resilience and support for growing throughput demands.
Attendees will leave with a clearer framework for deciding where each encryption layer fits, how to phase a transition without disrupting operations and how to build a more agile, future-ready security architecture.
