Integrating Telstra's national infrastructure with Viasat's global satellite capability enables assured Defence communications wherever operations demand it. During this presentation, you will learn about the collaboration between Telstra and Viasat to deliver differentiated Satellite Communications solutions with ViaSat-3 Flight-3 across the Asia Pacific Region. Unique space vehicle and space payload features provide high capacity and high-performance capabilities to government and military users across all domains, utilizing small terminals to support existing and emerging warfighting platforms. A proliferated ground gateway architecture delivers market-leading resilience against environmental and adversarial threats. Advanced waveform and RF techniques increase resistance to interference allowing end users to operate in contested environments, as well as extending operations across the full Ka-band spectrum (including MilKa).
Software-configurable capabilities provide the warfighter with the ability to rapidly maneuver with speed and agility as the mission parameters evolve. Flexible bandwidth management, satellite resource management, and traffic prioritization features support surge requirements and geographic coverage changes on demand. Real-time adaptive beamforming provides assured service level delivery based on the need of every user in the system, with dedicated beams and satellite resources. Finally, you will learn about the portfolio of User Terminals that are available to connect the different weapons systems and platforms, in compliance with platform requirements and operational scenarios. Biography
George currently leads Advanced Concepts & Technology for Government Services and Solutions (GSS), a business segment of Viasat Government and a wholly owned subsidiary of Viasat Inc. In this role, George is responsible for future technologies including connectivity solutions, customer experience, satellite and network roadmaps, and advanced warfighting concepts.
George is responsible for managing the technical and product roadmaps for the Government Segment’s network services including: Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2), Special operations forces, Communications, Command, and Control (C3) products and services, crewed and uncrewed, fixed-wing, and rotary-wing Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) products and services, Ground fixed, nomadic, and mobile Communications, Command, Control, and Computers (GC4) services, and maritime services.
In addition to his role representing Viasat’s Government Segment, George is also a member of the design team of Viasat’s commercial networks and terminals. In this role, George contributes to the design of Viasat’s next-generation network services portfolio (including next-generation multi-network terminals, miniGEO, NGSO) and serves as the liaison between Viasat’s commercial and government businesses to ensure that government stakeholders’ requirements and CONOPS can be serviced by our future network services.
George joined Viasat in 2009, having held similar roles at Ericsson, and Nextwave Wireless, representing over 25 years’ experience in wireless communications systems, WLAN technologies, satellite communications, and hybrid networking. George has expertise in satellite terminal development, network architecture and design, network management systems, data analytics, and complex integration of communications products and systems.
