Presentation Outline
Autonomous AI systems are being used to execute cyber attacks at machine speed, with minimal human oversight. What once required a skilled operator can now run autonomously, at scale. That automation introduces a structural vulnerability defenders can exploit: these systems must read to reason, and trust what they read. And that trust can be weaponised against them.
This tutorial showcases how that trust can be subverted in LLM-powered, agentic attack workflows. We demonstrate how carefully placed deceptive artefacts can introduce targeted “lies” into an agent’s decision-making, corrupting reasoning and derailing execution. By exploiting the assumptions embedded in automated processes, cyber deception enables defenders to mislead, delay, and expose attacks, shifting the advantage from detection to controlled manipulation.
