Presentation Outline

Timing for critical infrastructure remains heavily reliant on satellite timing signals that can be easily disrupted or denied. In 2026, we have seen compounding failures in national timing systems, and a new threat from space-based interference. This presentation will look at recent outages and provide solutions for protecting your timing systems. 1. Summary: The 2026 situation - the threat continues to increase. 2. Recap: GNSS jamming and spoofing is easy! 3. Threat: Space-based interference. 4. Threat: Out-of-date systems. 5. Threat: Outages in Australia. 6. Solution: Augmentation with authenticated signals. 7. Solution: Interference monitoring & detection. 8. Solution: Long-distance time transfer from a primary source. 9. Update: JammerTest 2027. 10. Q&A. This presentation will focus more on current threats and emerging solutions, with a focus on 2026 events. For those who have attended previous years, the 2026 presentation will limit introductory concepts to allow more time for discussion on current developments and emerging risks. Disclosure: iTkey is the Australian distributor for Meinberg & GPSPATRON. As a non-commercial presentation, other market solutions will also feature where relevant.
