Capability Matters! Accelerate your Capability to Deliver Viable Project Outcomes.

Capability matters in all aspects of project and program management. Capable people are needed to deliver success, supported by capable systems, policies and procedures, all focused on creating viable project outcomes for the organisation.

The symposium will look at capability from every angle, from using Capabilities-Based Planning to optimising the specifications for a new product or service, through the capabilities needed to accelerate the delivery of projects and programs in a complex and volatile environment, to the design of the program which is focused on enhancing the capabilities of attendees to succeed in their careers.

The symposium is the ideal opportunity to grow your knowledge and learn how to apply it effectively by being involved, attending the sessions and then interacting with our presenters and your colleagues through the symposium's range of networking opportunities.

Stream 1

Delivering the required capability in a complex environment

Projects and programs are established to deliver the enhanced capabilities required by the client organisation. But in a complex, evolving world achieving success requires skills that extend well beyond the traditional focus of time, cost and quality. Presentations in this stream will look at the capabilities required to deliver projects and programs successfully by analysing case studies and considering the current and emerging challenges faced by project teams and organizations in a complex world.

Stream 2

The MOEs and MOPs of an effective project controls system

This stream looks at the Measures of Effectiveness (MoE) and Measures of Performance (MoP) needed in a project controls system to provide the visibility and feedback required by management to effectively run a project or program. And, at the same time to provide the information needed to manage and govern the organization in a complex, agile and adaptive world. Presentations in this stream will focus on the methods, techniques, tools and systems used by portfolios, PMOs, programs and projects to control and monitor the delivery of the required capabilities on time and on budget.

Stream 3

Creating capable organisations and people

Committed and capable people are at the centre of every successful organization and project. This stream looks at the capabilities and competencies needed by organizations and their people to set the framework for success. People are at the centre of successful delivery of the change needed to realise the benefits expected from every project and program. Papers in this stream will range from governance and ethics, through stakeholder engagement and motivation, to the communication and training needed to develop capable people.
