We are excited to have you join us in Canberra for the 5th Combined Australian and New Zealand Entomological Societies Conference, a gathering of entomologists, researchers, educators, and insect enthusiasts from around the world! This conference is dedicated to exploring the crucial roles that insects and related arthropods play in ecosystems and human societies. This year, our theme, Securing Our Future Together, recognises the importance of understanding how arthropod biodiversity, functions, and behaviours impact our lives daily.
This meeting marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Australian Entomological Society, the 56th Annual Conference of the Australian Entomological Society and the 73rd Entomological Society of New Zealand Conference. We welcome our colleagues from New Zealand to celebrate this achievement. The last meeting held in Canberra in 1990 was attended by 330 people, and we hope to have more people engage, participate, present, discuss and socialise at this event in 2025. We will continue the long-held tradition of scientific knowledge sharing for conserving and improving important social, cultural, ecological, and industrial processes driven by arthropods. As we face increasing environmental and social challenges, understanding, managing and protecting these tiny yet powerful creatures is more important than ever. Get ready to dive into the fascinating world of entomology and join us in Canberra to shape a future where we all continue to thrive!
We can’t wait to see you there!
